Dr. Samuel Huang, lyric tenor. At the request of a former French prime minister, Dr. Huang made his concert debut in Salle Gaveau , Paris, which received the following favourable review by French Olyrix Magazine: “The sound production is solid, projected and resonant, its highs assured. It also shows the great work done musically in Werther, the range not posing a problem for him.”. Dr. Huang has been regularly invited to perform in major concerts and important events, including the Centennial Celebration Concert celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the UNICEF “United for Children” fundraising concert, the Orbis “Music of Lights” charity concert and the Operation Smile. Dr. Huang also played the leading role in many operas, such as Don Jose in the French opera “Carmen”, Romeo in “Romeo and Juliet”, Gaston in the Italian opera “La Traviata” and Ruiz from “Il Trovatore”. In terms of oratorios, Handel’s “Messiah”, Haydn’s “Genesis” and Mendelssohn’s “Elijah” are also works that Dr. Huang specialises in performing. Dr. Huang graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Art and received an honorary doctorate degree from International American University.
