Janet WONG


Janet WONG, who is a soprano, drama actor artist and music educator graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 1999, majoring in vocal and minoring in piano and studies under the renowned soprano, Madame Ella KIANG. After graduation, Janet had further study in music therapy, early childhood education and music improvisation. Janet obtained the Advanced Certificate from Japan Yamaha Music Foundation in 2018 under the guidance of esteemed Yamaha Electone master Ms. Mayana and won the third prize vocal in opera of the International Music Competition Rome in 2021.

Over the years, Janet has given solo performances in various classical crossover stage including the former Government House Concert, St. John’s Cathedral Concert, and performed Nessun dorma from Turandot in the large-scale outdoor Opera-Rock Concert “The Big Picnic” in Discovery Bay. And she has performed in opera productions including Puccini’s Suor Angelica, Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Verdi’s La Traviata, Bizet’s Carmen, etc. In 2012, Janet has given an unforgettable piano playing for the Chinese famous song Butterfly Lovers concert (Liangzhu) and received acclaim for Moon Represents My Heart in Tsuen Wan Town Hall. Janet has also acted the leading role “Lovina” in the professional Cantonese musical drama in 2017 and was invited to be a special guest singer in the Women’s Day Concert collaborated with the Maestro Mr. FAN Ting of the In-heritage Philharmonic Orchestra in March of 2024 singing opera aria Madame Butterfly and Wo Ai Ni Zhong Guo.
